DLDAV Model School, Shalimar Bagh organized - *STEAM 3.0*- a unique event that celebrates the inquisitiveness of young minds. Close to 100 projects put together by the students of classes 6-10 were showcased on August 18 and 19, 2023.

The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble, Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Director of Education, Govt. of NCT Delhi. It was also graced by the presence of Sh. Ajay Suri ji, Chairman of the school, General Secretary, DAVCMC,  Dr. Balesh,  Deputy Director of Education, zone 10 and Ms. Sneh Verma, Manager of the school.

Principals and teachers from various schools of Delhi and parents of the school also attended the event.

The entire program enthralled the visitors with an exciting journey dotted with performances and presentations. Along with the display of scientific temper, guests were able to see children speaking, enacting, singing and dancing bringing out the various scientific principles to the fore. It was experiential learning at its best and showcased the concepts of Multidisciplinary learning and Art integration as envisioned in NEP 2020 and NCF. The event also showcased the themes of G20.

The Science Arena highlighted the concept of Panchkosha vikas and the benefits of including Millets in diet through beautiful ballet performances. The innovative and problem solving skills of learners were evident in the projects and models presented confidently by them like the SMART bridge, Upcycling plastic waste, urban miyawaki forest and transforming urban waste into electricity.

The realm of Mathematics presented the mesmerizing amalgamation of Art with Mathematics and also showed fun ideas of learning Math. The Indian cultural heritage and the themes of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat were also presented.

The Technology  sphere focused on four core areas –advancements in technology like chat GPT vs. Google Bard, Upcycling e-waste and cyber safety.

The Engineering arena showcased in Atal Tinkering Laboratory highlighted innovations for social welfare. Saving Environment through Tinkering, Systematic car parking, Smog tower, Lpg Leakage, Alcohol detection and Vehicle controlling were some interesting projects presented handsomely by the students.

The Creative and performing arts were merged beautifully with the subjects through Nukkad nataks, dances, ballets and song presentations. The creative ART work on the theme of Best out of Waste like the tyre furniture, plastic can planters impressed the guests.

The event received huge praise from Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Director of Education, Govt. of NCT Delhi and other dignitaries present on the occasion. They especially appreciated the projects made on innovations for social good. “ DLDAV has done wonderful work. I could see lot of sustainable solutions in environment, climate change and even everyday problems. Students in the school are learning through various aspects of NEP and showed the waste being used creatively”, he said.
