On 14 August 2026, a sensitisation session on POCSO and related safety concerns was conducted for students of Classes XI and XII by School Counsellors, under the able leadership and guidance of Ms. Nisha Sharma, Principal.
The session focused on POCSO, personal boundaries, consent, safe and unsafe behaviour, online safety, grooming, cyber risks and responsible bystander behaviour. Interactive activities such as Myth or Fact, Safe/Unsafe/Not Sure and Red Flag/Green Flag helped students understand warning signs and appropriate responses.
The session emphasised help-seeking, reporting concerns to trusted adults, supporting peers without judgement, and maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
Under the leadership of Principal Ms. Nisha Sharma, DLDAV Model School, Shalimar Bagh, in collaboration with the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of NCT of Delhi, organized a POCSO Awareness Session on 1 August 2026 for teachers, office staff, and Class IV employees, including peons, drivers, housekeeping staff, and ayahs. The session aimed to enhance awareness of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, mandatory reporting procedures, and the shared responsibility of all school personnel in ensuring child safety.
The session was conducted by Sh. Kundan Kanskar, Member, DCPCR; Sh. Arun Sharma, DCPO (North West), DCPU; and Sh. Vijay Kumar Pandey, Member, CWC-VI, who shared valuable insights on child protection laws, reporting mechanisms, and the role of every staff member in safeguarding children.
The programme included an educational video and an interactive discussion, enabling participants to clarify their queries and strengthen their understanding of child protection practices. The session was coordinated by the School Counselling Department, with Ms. Pooja Yadav and Ms. Rashmi Pawar facilitating the programme. The event concluded with the presentation of tokens of appreciation to the distinguished speakers for their valuable guidance and contribution.
An informative training workshop on 25/07/206 on the PRASHAST Disability Screening Checklist was successfully conducted for our teaching faculty by school counsellor,Ms pooja yadav under the guidance of our principal,Ms Nisha Sharma.
The session focused on guiding teachers through the practical process of using the PRASHAST checklist for early identification and screening of students with potential disabilities or special needs. The facilitators walked the faculty through the step-by-step procedure of observing classroom behaviors, understanding specific indicators, and accurately filling out Part-1 (general screening) of the checklist forms. The session concluded with an interactive segment to address teachers' queries on accurate reporting and documentation.
DLDAV Model School, Shalimar Bagh, under the leadership of Principal Mrs. Nisha Sharma, conducted an awareness workshop on “Menstrual Hygiene and Better Sanitation Options” for students of Classes V to XII. The session was conducted by Clinical and Applied Psychologists Ms. Sanchita and Ms. Saachi Aggarwal in association with Whisper.
Understanding the need for age-appropriate health education, the session was planned by Senior Counsellor Ms. Pooja Yadav to create a safe and informative space for students to learn about puberty, menstrual hygiene, body changes, and better sanitation practices. Through interactive discussions, videos, and engaging activities, students gained a better understanding of menstrual well-being while addressing common myths and misconceptions.
The programme concluded with Principal Mrs. Nisha Sharma presenting tokens of appreciation to the resource persons for their valuable contribution.
