The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and patriotic fervour in the school campus. The tricolour was hoisted with pride, followed by the National Anthem echoing across the school grounds, filling every heart with a sense of pride and gratitude.
The cultural programme that followed was a vibrant display of music, dance, and spirit, all centred around the theme of patriotism. The school choir set the tone with a stirring patriotic song, performed with emotion and harmony that touched every listener deeply. Their soulful rendition served as a tribute to the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the hopes of a united, progressive India.
A major highlight of the morning was the Inter-House Dance Talent Hunt, which was introduced for the first time this year. With patriotism as the central theme, students from all houses brought the stage alive with energetic and expressive dance performances. What made this segment truly special was the enthusiastic participation of first-time dancers, who stepped onto the stage with nervous excitement and left it glowing with confidence and joy. Their effort, passion, and creative interpretation of India’s freedom story were lauded by all.
In her address to the students,Principal, Ms. Reena Rajpal delivered a heartfelt and inspiring speech. Speaking in an informal, student-centric tone, she urged the young audience to see independence not just as a historic milestone but as a daily responsibility. She encouraged students to be honest, compassionate, and responsible citizens — to honour their freedom through their actions, both big and small. The Principal reminded everyone that the true tribute to the freedom fighters is not just in remembrance but in building a better India through education, empathy, and integrity.
She also informed the students about the two important steps being taken by the school to fulfil their promise to the nation- a promise to live meaningfully, and take concrete steps to better the society. These were the installation of the Rotary club and inauguration of the refurbished paper recycling plant.
The celebration ended on a high note, with a renewed sense of pride and purpose in every student’s heart. It was a call to action for the future — to live as proud, aware, and active citizens of India.
